#SONA19: Tourism Sector Has Seen 20% Growth – H.E Akuffo-Addo

The President of Ghana today, 21st February, 2019, at the parliament house, during the reading of the State Of The Nation’s Address revealed that the tourism industry has seen immense growth.

Though one will ask which and where this growth can be seen, we recall that the 2018 AFRIMA, saw lots of tourists troop into Ghana.

The later part of 2018 also saw hollywood stars here in Ghana just to celebrate Christmas. The likes of  Odupomaa Bozoma Saint John, Boris Kodjoe, Rosario Dawson and more, cruise on Lake Volta to Akwamufie, Bogyawe Palace to experience the rich culture and heritage of the Akwamu Kingdom.

Speaking about the tourism and creative arts sector while delivering his third state of the nation address, President Akuffo-Addo said the world bank has released $40 million grant to help upgrade tourism in Ghana.

He also touched on the homecoming program dubbed, The Year Of Return, organized by the tourism ministry. He stated that the tourism sector has seen 20% growth since last year.
