Some Powerful Government Officials Frustrated The Fight Against Galamsey- Ekow Ewusi

It has emerged that the immediate past Environment, Science, and Technology Minister, Prof. Frimpong Boateng had nothing to do with the missing excavators and activities of illegal miners.

Detailed information available to us has fingered some top officials of government and party supporters who supported activities of illegal mining despite the courage by Prof. Boateng to halt these activities.

From the details available, some persons used the office of the Vice President to frustrate the work of Prof. Frimpong Boateng.

The chain of activities of these Yh powerful individuals includes senior journalists, top officials at the corridors of power, and influential power brokers who are willing to go all length to come after journalists who are willing to expose their activities.

This is coming at a time when some military officers and personnel were found protecting some illegal small scale miners in Tontokrom in the Amansie West District.

However, the former minister has been vindicated by a recording which has the voice   Mr Ekow Ewusi who worked under Mr. Charles Bissue on the Inter Ministerial Committee on illegal Mining

It is the voice recording of Ekow Ewusi, Prof. Boateng did all he could to stop the activities of illegal miners but was frustrated by top officials in the party and the government.

Mr Ewusi also confessed and alleged that some top respected lawyers in the party are the ones defending the illegal miners and providing them with state protection.

There were calls for him to resign in the first term of the NPP after revelations about the disappearance of some excavators seized from illegal miners became public.

Some reports were linked to the son of Prof. Frimpong-Boateng, Jojo Frimpong Boateng, to illegal mining but the former minister according to the information available had nothing to with this neither was his son.
