Hundreds of armed soldiers have stormed Domefaase, an area near Kasoa where two soldiers were on Tuesday brutally assaulted and beaten to pulp.
Reports indicate that over 300 soldiers have stormed the town in an attempt to arrest civilians who assaulted the soldiers in land conflict.
The two soldiers were critically injured after they were attacked by irate residents of Dome Faase near Obom Domeabra in the Greater Accra Region over land ownership.
Videos of the assault circulating on social media show the soldiers slashed with machete in the head and beaten to a pulp.
Their uniforms were ripped apart as they were made to sit on the ground, soaked in blood.
According to a report sighted by Gossips24.com on theghanareport.com, two helicopters belonging to the Ghana Armed Forces were also dispatched to the area.
Residents fear the deployment of this number of soldiers to the area could be a coordinated reprisal.
Dome Faase has all of a sudden turned into a ghost town after the military was deployed to the area. Some shop owners have deserted their open shops following the heavy security presence in the town. Homes have reportedly been abandoned as well.
Reports emerging indicate that hundreds have been arrested and paraded on various football parks within the community.
More to come soon…
