Multiple-award-wining Ghanaian famed broadcaster, Serwaa Amihere, has slammed the Ghana police service for preventing NDC MPs from submitting their petition to the Electoral Commission.
According to the GHOne presenter and news anchor, it wasn’t right for the police to mistreat the Members of Parliament the way they did their action was an infringement on the right of theese lawmakers.
As argued by Serwaa Amihere in a tweet, the NDC MPs caused no harm by trying to present an election petition to the EC therefore the police should have allowed them.
So can’t @GhPoliceService treat MPs with a little more respect and not heckle them on their way to present a petition? What harm is there in presenting a petition? Is this a democracy or what?
This rant followed after some NDC MP’s stromed the EC’s head office to submit their petition to the Electoral Commission over their belief that the 2020 election figures the electoral body presented are not the true reflection of the votes cast by the electorates who took part in the just ended polls.
