Tertiary students to resume to shool in January 2021 – Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has publicly communicated that the new academic year for both new and continuing university students will commence from January 2021.

During his  18th address to the nation yesterday, 18th October 20202,  the President said, “SHS 2 and JHS 2 students are back in school, and so as some students in tertiary institutions and colleges.

“Indeed, the academic year for new and continuing University students will commence from January 2021.”

According to Nana Addo, this  decision was arrived at after deliberating on  on “the strategic, controlled, progressive, safe easing of restrictions…, with its overarching objective being to restore our lives and economy back to normal.”

Last two months, various educational institutions were partially reopened for final year students to complete their last exams.
