On Tuesday afternoon Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp got a big boost in the first team after Liverpool striker Sadio Mane returned to training for the current English Champions.
Mane had tested positive for Covid-19 and therefore needed to quarantine for days before coming back to join the team in training.
The Senegalese international returned to full training with the team in Tuesday’s session, something that would have pleased Klopp before the trip to Everton for the Merseyside derby in the English Premier League.
Senegal national team coach Aliou Cisse also had to exclude the 28-year-old from his squad to face Morocco in an international friendly and his presence was felt as Senegal went on to lose 3-1 away in Rabat against a rampant Morocco side.
Thiago Alcantara and Cameroonian international Joel Matip also returned to training after fully recovering from knocks as well.
Liverpool lost 7-2 to Aston Villa in their last league game away at Villa Park and Mane’s presence was clearly missed with Mohammed Salah having to carry the team on his own scoring a brace on the day, but it was not enough to avoid the drubbing by coach Dean Smith’s men.
Liverpool will be hoping to get back to winning ways on Saturday afternoon at Goodison Park as one of the oldest derbies in English football will be in the spotlight.
The Senegalese star man has played three Premier League games this season scoring three goals, a statistic that proves his importance in the team.
