Road Accidents In Ghana On the rise in these 3 Regions

In the Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo region, road accidents have been on a sharp increase this year as it has resulted in the death of 242 people from a total of 591 accidents stated by Mr. Kwasi Agyenim-Boateng.

Mr. Agyenim-Boateng said these recordings are deeply troubling and entreat the media to help propagate the essential road safety education.

In his statement at a road safety education campaign held at the Nana Bosoma central market in the Sunyani Municipality he mentioned that majority of these road accidents were linked to motor cycles collision and pedestrian knockdowns.

The campaign was lauched to edeucate especially drivers in commercial sector on road safety protocols.

For this to be a successful campaign, Mr. Agyenim stated that collaboration was being done to foster the awareness of the ‘Arrive Alive’ initiative in the stated three regions.

He further made it known that education on road safety protocols has reached some 4,344 drivers and 43,560 at 136 lorry terminals across the regions already.

The Acting Regional Head of the NRSA Mr. Agyenim at the end of his speech pleaded to all road users to be mindful about road safety rules and prevent needless accidents that rob innocent lives.
