The founder and leader of Glorious Word Power Ministries International, Rev Owusu Bempah, has spoken for the first time succeeding his arrest and according to him, the reports that his boys attacked a group of police personnel at his church premises last Sunday should be pinned as a lie.
According to a press statement from his Church, the gunshots which were fired were also not masterminded by his associate pastors or boys as reported.
The press statement also emphatically stated that the man of God is doing well and not sick as the news which went rife a couple of hours ago asserted.
Part of the statement reads;
The church confirms that there was an altercation outside of the church premises on Sunday 12th September 2021 that got one of our junior pastors manhandled and arrested by some unidentified men. The manner of arrest generated into a scuffle that attracted people in the neighbourhood and the church to the scene.”
The gunshots by the then unidentified men and the call for help from the neighbourhood caught the attention of Apostle Dr Isaac Owusu-Bempah who halted his ministration at the church and moved out to the scene to get details of what was happening.”
Upon being informed that one of his junior pastors has been arrested, he followed up to the Dansoman Police Station and was later informed that he (Junior Pastor) had been taken to the Greater Accra Regional Police Command, where Apostle Dr Isaac Owusu-Bempah proceeded to.
Rev. Owusu Bempah and three others were arrested by police on September 12 for making threats, brandishing weapons, and beating police personnel.
The highly opinionated man of God and the other suspects pleaded not guilty to the allegations against them when they appeared in court on Monday.
Legal counsel for the self-made Nation Prophet, Gary Nimako Marfo, therefore, urged the court to grant his client bail but the Prosecutor, Chief Inspector Dennis Terkpetey opposed the petition.
