Rev Obofour is deviating from his calling – Lawyer Maurice Ampaw
Popular Ghanaian lawyer, Maurice Ampaw has charged law enforcers to punish Rev Obofour over his recent actions during a church services.
The controversial legal practitioner heavily descended on the Founder and leader of Anointed Palace Chapel Rev. Obofour for allowing a member in the congregation to smoke in church and showing to the world.
It will be recalled that Rev. Obofour was captured in a video delivering a man identified as Razak from his addiction to marijuana and in the process of the deliverance, he instructed Razak to light the rolled ‘weed’ and smoke it in front of the whole congregation.
This incident which took place at Prophet Abruku Abruka’ church was not well received by majority of the public as they criticized Rev. Obofour for degrading the work of God.
Later after the video went viral, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. James Oppong-Boanuh ordered Rev.Obofour to be invited and questioned.
In his statement to the Police, the controversial ‘Man Of God” affirmed that he was instructed by the Holy Spirit to allow the man to smoke the illegal substancw during the deliverance service session.
Expressing his view on the arrest of Rev.Obofour in an exclusive interview on ‘Maakye’, hosted by Boamah Darko on Accra-based Hot 93.9FM, Lawyer Maurice Ampaw stated that the Police should’ve acted long ago because most Ghanaian Pastors are engaging in criminal activities with impunity which are having negative repercussions on Children.
“ Rev. Obofour, what he did I’m extremely disappointed in the Police because you shouldn’t have started a campaign before they arrest him. Most Pastors of today are engaging in criminal acts with impunity. The things they do in their churches; some are insulting, that provokes people, disturbing public peace, offensive conducts; all these are captured on social media which deprecate the minds of Children”. Maurice Ampaw said.
He added,” Rev.Obofour is becoming swollen headed; he is deviating from his calling because that arrogance to the extend of saying overtaking is allowed, Smoke the wee no one can do you anything,…how dare him? he should be punished severely to let other pastors know that they are not above the law”.
