Azumah Nelson reveals how J.J Rawlings used to sweep his training room even as the head of state
An exclusive interview Legendary Ghanaian boxer, Azumah Nelson, held in November last year has resurfaced on the internet following the burial of the former had of state yesterday and has left netizens teary and emotional.
This interview revealed the “soft and humble” side of the late statesman as many people have it in mind that he was an aggressive and forthright figure.
As succinctly narrated by the four-times world champion, Late JJ Rawlings used to sweep his training room during their preparation towards the World Olympic Games in the ’80s.
Azumah’s revelation surprised everyone when he said JJ Rawlings continued to do that work even when he was head of state.
He further disclosed that Out of Rawlings’ selfless actions, he(Azumah) developed a strong friendship with him which was not broken till his death.
