President Nana Akufo-Addo busted for using a photo of Jakarta’s Great Sea Wall to deceive Ghanaians

Gossip Mongers, the President of Ghana, H.E Nana Akufo-Addo has once again been forced to delete a photo from his timeline on Facebook after fact-checkers got on his neck to do the needful.

Last week, former President of Ghana, Jerry John Rawlings complained bitterly about the rising sea levels. Jerry John Rawlings even vowed to stage a protest if parliament fails to address the rising sea erosion in the coastal areas.

Fast forward, the hasty government under H.E Nana Akufo-Addo took to Facebook to announce that it is committed to protecting lands from the sea.

The president’s official Facebook page shared a photo that had the inscription, “We have completed 6 sea defense projects and have 6 more under. Protecting our lands from the sea remains a priority of the NPP Government.”

Fact-checkers checked if the photo that had the quoted inscription is really a project from/in Ghana.

Shockingly, the photo appeared to be a project from Jakarta which was featured in an article in 2016.

Apparently, whoever designed the President’s Facebook post just copied the photo and used it for the post instead of capturing the said ‘six’ project, if only they exist here in Ghana.

The embarrassment from the post and comments from social media users has forced handlers of the President’s facebook account to delete the said post. But since the internet never forgets, Gossips24.com has a screenshot from the President’s page which has been attached to this piece. We hope his handlers do due diligence next time!
