President Akufo-Addo and wife test negative for coronavirus

The President of Ghana, H.E Akufo-Addo and his wife, First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo have both tested negative for the novel coronavirus.

There were speculations and conspiracy theories that the president and his family could be harbouring the virus since they had come into contact with the Norwegian ambassador who was reported as Ghana’s first COVID-19 patient.

However, the president’s physician has ruled out the conspiracies, she revealed a test conducted on the President and his entire family came out negative.

The president’s personal physician made this known during a press briefing at the Ministry of Information on Wednesday, 1st April 2020.

“On the day before the President’s birthday, we tested him and the First Lady and his daughters and all the staff of this household and I am happy to announce that all the tests came back negative,”

she said.
