Just In: Police arrests Kafaba chief over death of 90-year-old woman

Chief of the Kafaba community Seidu Yahaya has been arrested by the Salaga District Police Command as part of investigations into the lynching of a 90-year-old woman.

According to a report by Mynewsgh.com, the chief has been moved from Salaga police station where he was earlier invited for interrogation to the Savannah Regional Police Headquarters and is currently being interrogated by a four-member panel.

It is still unclear what transpired between the chief and the police but has been linked to the incident that has been accused of inviting the self-styled witch doctor who condemned the old woman as a witch and ordered her persecution.

No arrest since the murder of Akua Denteh has been made yet. Meanwhile, Amnesty International has since visited the area.
