People of Axim smoke and fry washed-ashore dolphins for chop bars and market consumption (video)

In Axim-Bewire in the Western Region, over 60 dolphins were washed ashore on Sunday, April 4, 2021.

A follow-up visual report by UTV Ghana reveals the people of Axim have started smoking and frying some of the washed-ashore dolphins.

According to the fish mongers, they bought the already dead dolphins from people who picked them up from the shore when the unfortunate incident occurred.

However, they do not have any intention of returning the dolphins as they’ve already boiled, smoked, and fried some ready to sell on the market and distribute to chop bars.

They explained that unless they are compensated for the cost involved in getting and preparing the dolphins for the market, they are not returning them to anyone for any reason.
