People fight during the distribution of Government’s free food for the poor and needy in Kumasi (video)

Sharing of the Government’s free food to the poor and needy in some parts of Kumasi has become a tug of war between natives of various towns where the distributions are taking place.

This comes after the Government announced the distribution of free meals to over 400,000 Ghanaians in locked-down areas amidst the COVID-19 outbreak in Ghana.

The food items from Government are to be supplied to vulnerable individuals within the lockdown areas in the Greater Kumasi Metropolitan area.

The items which include, bags of rice, beans, Gari and cooking oil are expected to be distributed to persons from poor backgrounds who cannot afford to feed during the lockdown period.

However, the distribution has turned into chaos and in some videos chanced on by Gossips24.com the people who are supposed to benefit from the exercise are seen fighting over the food items with those in charge.

It appears only the strongest will benefit from the exercise and that is uncalled for.
