Actor, Kojo Nkansah Lilwin has pleaded with the government to develop a salary scheme for actors and actresses when they get old just like government workers.
Actors, according to Lilwin, entertain the nation, therefore they must be cared for when they become old and can no longer earn money.
Speaking in an interview, he said;
Veteran actors are even supposed to be paid by the government; from 60 years and above. These people have paid their dues when it comes to entertainment. Even Ministers, when they have a bad day or a misunderstanding with their wives, they watch movies to laugh it off
Ghana, this is the time you have to celebrate us not when we die. We like celebrating the dead, this is the time they have to tell us words of encouragement for us to be motivated when it comes to entertaining the public
Lilwin made this proposal following TT‘s plea for money from sympathizers and loved ones after his rent of 3000 cedis elapsed hence the need to storm the internet to solicit funds.
The current President, Dr. Bawumia, and a few popular people extended their benevolence to TT in cash and in kind.
