The Netherlands Embassy in Ghana has shut its office over threats of COVID-19.
This follows two recorded cases in Ghana, one of whom is said to be a staff of the Norwegian Embassy.
A tweet from the Netherlands Embassy Saturday said the development was prompted by the fact that both missions are housed in the same building.
There are reports that the confirmed carrier of the virus at the Norwegian Embassy is a top diplomat.
According to the notice, employees are expected to work from home as part of precautionary measures to prevent possible contraction and spread.
The Netherlands embassy, however, explained that it is in touch with health officials in Ghana in relation to ongoing containment efforts among other activities necessary in ensuring the safety of all staff.
The Netherlands Embassy said it is conscious of other protocols and guidelines outlined by the World Health Organisations (WHO) and has expressed commitment to collaborate with stakeholders in Ghana’s healthcare space to reduce the deadly coronavirus.
Meanwhile, reports reveal that Ghana will be announcing its third case of COVID-19.
The said sufferer is said to have returned to the Kotoka International Airport after a trip abroad this week and flew to Obuasi by helicopter
He, however, reported himself to a health facility in Kumasi where a series of tests conducted returned positive for COVID-19.
