NDC is Behind Faulty Traffic Lights in Anyaa Sowutuom – NPP Executive Alleges

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Anya Sowutuom constituency of the Greater Accra Region has been accused of tampering with traffic lights in the area.

Nana Agyenim Boateng, a constituency executive of the ruling NPP, made these allegations during a program called Community Manifesto organized by TV3 in the constituency.

Nana Boateng claimed that there is substantial evidence linking some NDC executives in the constituency to the attacks on several traffic lights, resulting in traffic congestion on the main Anyaa Sowutuom-Weija/Gbawe and Kasoa stretch.

He also alleged that the police have gathered enough evidence to prosecute these NDC executives in the coming week.

“When my good boss was in office, every year we ensured that those traffic lights on this stretch were being serviced. Until recent times when we had Intel, which pinpoints some of our brothers here ( pointing to the direction of the NDC executives seated adjacent to him), they are behind destroying some of these traffic lights. As we speak, within this week the evidence that has been gathered by the police service will put my brother and his colleagues before the court for destroying some of these traffic lights,” he stated.

When asked about the motive behind the destruction of the traffic lights, Nana Boateng mentioned that only the NDC executives involved would know the reasons.

The issue of faulty traffic lights in the constituency gained attention after a constituent knelt to beg authorities to address the situation, attributing the death of three individuals to the problem.

The Anyaa Sowutuom Constituency is expected to have a tense parliamentary election on December 7th, with Elder Daniel Tobin representing the NPP and Emmanuel Addotey Allotey running for the NDC.
