The communications officer of the major opposition political party NDC, widely known as Sammy Gyamfi has pledged that; All the footballers who play for the local teams in the country will be paid not less than 1500 cedis if John Mahama is voted back to power.

As hinted by the NDC firebrand, if power is given back to the John Mahama led NDC party after 7th December’s general elections, a national sports fund will be created to support football and other sporting disciplines in the country.

Every club that plays in the premier league will be supported with funds to settle player salaries, average money of GHC 1,500 will be paid to each player.

Every club that qualifies to play in the CAF Inter-club competition will also be supported. The inter-colleges games will also be supported financially with this fund.

However, clubs that transfer players abroad will give a percentage of the money they earn into the sports fund.
