National Chief Imam leads Muslims to donate GH¢50,000 for the construction of the National Cathedral

Following Ken-Ofori Atta’s humble plea to Ghanaians to financially assist in the construction of the National Cathedral, the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu has led Muslims in the country to donate a whopping GHc 50,000 to aid in the development of the holy temple.

Whiles making the donation to the caretakers of the National Cathedral earlier today, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu said that his gesture was meant to deepen the cordial and peaceful coexistence between Christians and Muslims in the country.

Meanwhile, some Ghanaian have also revealed that they will use their monies for beer and grilled pork rather than contributing to the completion of the National Cathedral.

The main cathedral will house 5000 people with a further capacity for 10,000 more in the wings to the sides of the podium.

The combination of its sheer scale, complex geometry and large spans adds to the engineering challenge of delivering a building in a seismic prone area, making it a unique project across Ghana’s emerging landscape.
