Dr Bawumia encourages Ghanaians to donate towards the building of the National Cathedral

Ghana’s Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, announced that on August 12, 2021 that a “100-cedis-a-month club” has been created to allow Ghanaians to financially contribute to the construction of the debatable National Cathedral.

This innovation by the ministry of finance was seriously censured by Ghanaians as many suggested that if the donation was for something worthwhile.

They would have strongly backed the government for moving in such a direction but here’s the case the National Cathedral will serve as no importance to the ordinary Ghanaian.

Well, Ghana’s current veep, Dr Bawumia, has begged Ghanaians in the humblest way to donate towards the construction of the National Cathedral.

Bawumia tasked faith-based groups and the church to contribute willingly to the development of the National Cathedral as he joined the Presbyterian Church of Ghana at Adabrake in Accra yesterday.

He said;

I implore you to let your voice be heard in the national discourse. The nation needs independent voices like yours. Be assured that you are on the side of God and he will keep watch over you.”

“I want to make one point before I sit down. As you all know there are efforts to build a national cathedral. It is very important that we build the cathedral, it is a voluntary exercise, anyone who wants to contribute can contribute.”

“I have contributed and I will contribute more so I encourage everybody to think about it and let us build it. It is not for anybody, it is for Ghana and for the glory of God

Will you contribute towards the building of the National Cathedral or will see your money for beer and pork?
