Ernest ‘Owoahene’ Acheampong, known as Nana Acheampong in the music fraternity has recounted how he met his other half Daddy Lumba born Charles Kwadwo Fosu.
Apparently, Nana Acheampong and Daddy Lumba were a duo called the Lumba Brothers and they were the ones who advanced Burger highlife in Ghana
The highlife musician in an interview he granted Kumasi based Pure Fm said,
“I was living in a flat and after some days I detected he also rented an apartment on the same flat. Occasionally I would be singing while engaging in some chores and overheard him doing same at one point or the other. After some time we became friends”,
Nana Acheampong disclosed that as their friendship grew, he introduced him to a band he was playing with and from there they decided to also produce their own music birthing the infamous Lumba Brothers.
“I introduced him to the band I was playing with…they were whites and they agreed he come to be part of us. We performed on several shows but after some time we also decided to come together and produce our own music and therefore hit the studio”, he revealed.
Asked why they bore the same resemblance confusing their fans at certain times he answered “it may be because we were together for quite long a time and as a result of hairstyle and mode of dressing”
He added that it could also be the case that they have the same sense of fashion which informs the reason they dress in the same way.
