Wife of Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, Tracy Sarkcess has recounted how her family strongly opposed her decision to hang out and date rapper Sarkodie during the early days of their affair.
Tracy revealed her family was against the fact that she was a university graduate and was hanging out with a mere rapper back in the days.
Apparently, there was a popular perception in the Ghanaian community – still exists – that musicians especially rappers were recalcitrant, wayward, womanizers, and above all dropouts.
However, Tracy Sarkcess in a tweet today revealed she had to stand on her grounds and fight for her relationship since she was the one in it, and above all believed otherwise.
“Yes paaa! My family didn’t understand why “university girl” like me would date a rapper😫 . & there was the perception that rappers are womanisers. But I had to stand my ground. I was the one in the relationship not them so wasn’t going to let them choose 4 me #SrAskTracySarkCess“, she said in a reply to a question on Twitter today.
