A mother has shot her own 1 year old daughter mistakenly while having a brawl with a neighbour in Detroit, USA on Monday, November 9.
The police have reported that in the middle of an argument concerning food, the neighbour took out a hammer which led the child’s mother to also bring out her gun.
She fired several times and mistakenly, a bullet hit her daughter who was close. She has been sent to the hospital but reports say she is in a critical condition and in intensive care.
Capt. Ian Severy spoke on behalf of the Detroit police to Fox 2;
He said; “I don’t know if I can adequately find the words for the feeling I get when anytime a child or an innocent person of any sort, is the victim of violence, “It is disgusting, quite frankly.”
He therefore cautioned gun owners to be responsible
“There are a lot of people lawfully carrying firearms and I encourage people that are able to so lawfully, with that comes a great deal of responsibility, what the actions may be and what the consequences may be”
The mother has been arrested.
