The initiator of one of the country’s most controversial award schemes, Kwame Owusu Fordjuor alias Dr UN has reportedly been arrested.
‘Dr UN,’ as he is popularly known, was picked up at the premises of Kumasi-based radio station, Hello FM by National Security operatives after an interview on Friday.
The self-styled ambassador is seen in an altercation with the security personnel while demanding that he sees an arrest warrant.
However, more details have surfaced shortly after his arrest. According reports, he was arrested after it was reported that the award scheme held in 2018 was fake and subsequently tried by a Magistrate Court in Asokore-Mampong.
The court presided over by Her Worship, Portia M.A. Salia, later granted him bail. But after flouting his bail conditions, the court issued a warrant for his arrest.
In view of this when news went out that Kwame Fordjour was in the studios of Hello FM, the security agencies stormed the place and later whisked him away in an unmarked saloon car.
Mr Fordjuor is the organiser for the infamous ‘Global Blueprint Excellence Awards’ which has been described by many as a scam following revelations that it had no affiliation with the United Nations (UN) as he had touted.
