The man who invaded the playing field at the Cape Coast whilst a match between the Ghana Black Stars and the Bafana Bafana of South Africa was ongoing has been granted bail after arrest.
The man named Awal Sulemana stormed the pitch during the second half of Ghana’s crucial AFCON 2021 game against the South Africans halting the match for some minutes.
It was a great spectacle to see him speed off from his pursuers, the police and other security officials when he was been chased on the pitch.
Awal Sulemana appeared in court yesterday and was charged with unlawful entry and offensive character.
According to sources, the pitch invader is a nurse who is awaiting postings and a resident of Kotokoraba, a suburb of Cape Coast.
“I heard they (Black Stars) will be stopping at Mankessim, but I knew the only opportunity I had to take a picture with Thomas Partey was on the field, that is why I rushed there”, he revealed.
