Man who Beat up a LASTMA official Arraigned

Lagos government arraign man who allegedly assaulted a LASTMA official

Upon the several times that its been said that nobody should take laws into their own hands, many still struggle to do just that.

A LASTMA official, Ismaila Lukman has allegedly been assaulted by one Ben Emmanuel together with a few others, in Lekki on November 8.

According to the reports, the few have escaped but Ben has been arrested and arraigned before a Magistrate court in Yaba, Lagos.

Mr. Kayode Oyekanmi, Director of Public Affairs in the Ministry of Justice, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, November 16.

“Ben Emmanuel in the company of some persons who are now at large was alleged to have assaulted and inflicted injuries on Ismaila Lukman, a LASTMA officer, while carrying out his assigned official duty on Sunday 8th November 2020 at Jakande Junction area in Lekki,” 

The state government had through the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Moyosore Onigbanjo, the Director of Public Prosecutions on November 10, “arraigned Ben Emmanuel before Yaba, Chief Magistrate Court on a (2) two count Charge of Grievous Bodily Harm under Section. 245 and Resisting a Public Officer while engaged in the discharge of his Lawful duties under Section 117(1).”

Ben has been granted a bail worth N500,000 with two sureties. The case has been adjourned to November 26.
