The attitude of most guys piercing their ears and some parts of their body has become a norm in the 21st century so far as the African community is concerned, but some parents are not allowing it settle in their homes.
In a similar case, a mother advised her son to make God proud upon seeing that he has pierced his ear. This was after her son updated his WhatsApp DP with a photo of him wearing an earring.
Apparently the boy is from a more religious/moral home, and his mother did not spare him at all after seeing a photo of him looking like a girl. He was given the best preaching.
