A level 300 student of the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ogun State by the name of Ayomide Adeleye has been arrested by the Nigerian Police Force for the kidnap and murder of her female best friend Christiannah Idowu.
Christiannah Idowu who happens to be a student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) was said to have gone missing on August 19, 2024.
According to report the abductor Ayomide a 23 year old who was identified as the best friend of the guy was said have confessed to the crime.
He was said to have contacted the parents of the lady and asked for a ransom of N1,500,000. Christiannah’s parents were said to have managed to raise N350,000 immediately.
The call which came was followed by instructions which stated that the lady’s parent should deposit the money into a betting account through a bank deposit (details withheld ).
After receiving the money, on August 22, the abductors requested that the bank statement of the sender be forwarded to an email. The family, reportedly complied.
The details of transactions were tracked by the police who were able to trace all the details to the number that was that of the young man who was arrested and is currently in police custody.
