Kumasi Based Bawku Youth Association Calls for Peace Ahead of 2020 Polls

The Bawku Youth Association in Kumasi, have organized a conference to drive the message of peace to Ghanaians as the December 7 elections approach.

The conference brought together youths from Bawku, garu, Tempane and Zebilla who are resident in Kumasi to call for the maintenance of peace in the polls.

The chief of the association, Mohammed Issaka Naaba Weiley, called on organizations and stakeholders to join in the fight for the maintenance of peace in the elections.

According to him, Bawku has enjoyed peace for about 12 years and needed to be maintained.

There are chances that politicians may want to exploit the youth to serve their own interests through violence and that is why we are urging our people back home not to engage in any activity that could trigger violence,” he noted.

“We don’t want Bawku to make headlines for the wrong reasons in this year’s election after going through three elections without any disturbances,” He added.
