After 3 music awards unveiled its nomination list for this year’s edition of the awards night, many musicians including Shatta Wael, Bosom Pyung, Kelvynboy and many more have expressed their utmost displeasure at the awards body for failing to honour them with certain nomination slots.
Award-winning songwriter, Martin King Arthur popularly known as Kofi Kinaata has urged these musicians to keep calm and stop throwing the heavy tantrums on the internet because wards don’t give life.
During an interview on Kastle FM this morning, he said;
I’m not sure and I don’t think that any artistes puts it behind their mind that I’m doing this particular song to go and win an award with it. As for the song you do and you enjoy yourself with it and it’s purposely for the fans but the awards are just the icing on the cake.
Responding to whether failing to win the VGMA Artiste of the year award last year has made him lose interest in award schemes in Ghana, Kofi Kinaata said that; Sometimes, it is worthy to add his voice to that of his fans when they complain of unfairness or bias.
So when they complain and you the artiste sits aloof as if you’re not concerned it’s like they do so in vain. So sometimes when the fans complain about such things it’s worthy for you the artiste to add your voice so they’ll feel they’re fighting a worthy cause.
So the awards are good we appreciate it and it makes the competition interesting but I know I wasn’t the only one nominated. Other artistes also got the nomination and they also expect to win it so all those in the category when given massive votes can equally win
He concluded his submissions by saying “If it goes the other way and you don’t win you’ve got to work hard and don’t get so angry and upset about it.”
