Ghanaian musician, Kofi Kinaata was awarded the “Vodafone Green Award” at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
The telecommunication companies, Vodafone introduced the category of Vodafone Green Award to celebrate musicians who used their craft to create environmental awareness and sustainability of the planet.
After Kinaata winning the category plaque on Saturday after the award event, the highlife artiste has received Ghc 10,000 inclusive with his song titled, “Illegal Fishing”.
Kofi Kinaata did the song in collaboration with the Ministry of Fisheries and the Ghana Sustainable Fisheries Management project.
This song was purposely to drive awareness of marine littering and expose wrongful practices in the fishing industry.
