Kenndey Agypong has extended his beef to the doorsteps of former president Flt Jerry John Rawlings [ RTD]. The member of parliament for Assin Central has openly poured insults on the former head of state and also blamed him for the lazy nature of most Ghanaians.
The NPP firebrand has asserted that J.J Rawlings dampened the importance of hard work after he mounted a death crusade on all the wealthy businessmen in the country during his tenure in office as the president.
“This perception that there are money rituals when we were growing up it was there but the person who worsened the situation, I will be blunt with you was ex-president Rawlings. He made people lazy and over-dependent on government. Because when he came, he killed and collapsed successful Ghanaian businesses and allowed the ordinary workers to run the business.
Kennedy Agypong whose words were very harsh during the interview also blasted the former military dictator for collapsing the both established and startup businesses which merited the potentials of taken over the African market when he was in power/
Kennedy also said Rawlings made people think that owners of private businesses are cheats and that they need to rebel.
“Rawlings created the impression that the owners of the businesses were cheating them. He indoctrinated Ghanaians to the extent that everything was the government. So, you see that today, most of our people have become beggars and they always depend on the government for everything.”
“That is the remote cause of what we are experiencing today. Everybody thinks the government is supposed to provide everything but that is not true in any part of the world. Anybody who depends solely on government will not succeed in life…
