Jordan Ayew beats Thomas Partey to win Foreign Footballer of the Year award

Black Stars striker Jordan Ayew has been crowned the winner of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana Foreign Footballer of the Year Award.

The 2019/2020 Crystal Palace best player of the year beat international Arsenal’s new baby, Thomas Partey, and Mubarak Wakaso.

The award was given to the only Ghanaian player who is on record to have scored the most goals in the EPL within the 2019/20 season despite Partey’s dominance and influence in the midfield of Atletico Madrid under the year of review.

Jordan took to social media to share a photo of the plaque which was presented to him in Turkey by GFA President, Kurt Okraku, saying, “Thank you toΒ @swag_ghanaΒ ! I’m honoured and grateful to receive the SWAG Foreign Footballer of the Year Award πŸ™πŸ½πŸ™πŸ½πŸ‡¬πŸ‡πŸ‡¬πŸ‡Β #GhanaΒ #cpfc.

Talking about Turkey, the Black Stars lost immensely to the Les Aigles of Mali in a game that ended 3-0 in favour of the Malians.

Both Jordan Ayew and Dede Ayew failed to find the net for the Black Stars of Ghana on Friday, October 9, 2020.
