I’m disappointed in the GFA for sacking Coach CK Akonnor – Former Blackstars player, John Painstil reveals

Whiles a large number of Ghanaians are jubilating over CK Akonnor‘s sack, former Blackstars player, John Painstil has come out to express his utmost disappointment in the GFA.

According to John Painstil, CK Akonnor’s sack was unwarranted and rushed. He made these submissions whiles speaking in an interview on Citi FM.

CK Akonnor was unfairly fired, according to John Painstsil, because he strongly believes that he was working hard to qualify the Black Stars for the World Cup.

He said;

It’s not a nice feeling, because when it happens to a coach, it’s as if it happened to all of us. However, this is the nature of a coach’s job; sometimes you get off to a good start, and sometimes you get off to a bad start.” He stated this in an interview with Eyewitness News.

I would say it is unfortunate; this is not the right time for him; he should have been given more time to work on the team.

When you look at his statistics and what he’s done, it’s clear that he arrived at the wrong time and didn’t get enough time to camp the players before most of the games.

It is very disappointing for me

Meanwhile, Coach CK Akonnor is said to be owed by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) a whooping $275,000 as his takeaway pay after he was sacked as the head coach of the Black Stars.
