Madam Jean Mensah, chairperson of the Electoral Commission during a briefing in Parliament about the Commission’s preparedness for the December 7 elections, has said that all ballots with the exception of Eastern Region, have been printed.
With regards to the parliamentary ballots, she mentioned that only three regions namely; Oti, Upper East and Volta have been printed.
Printing of the Voters Register that is supposed to contain 17,029,971 voters, according to her, is also in process.
Below are some of the things she said concerning the preparedness of the Commission for the upcoming Elections.
“In terms of the presidential ballots, the printing has been completed for all regions with the exception of the Eastern Region.
“And with the parliamentary [ballots], the printing has been completed for the Volta Region, Oti Region and the Upper East Region.
“It is important to note that political parties have submitted their hard drives to the Commission and have been informed that a good number of them are picking theirs this afternoon.”
The briefing was done today, November 7 and the elections will be held on December 7, 2020.
