Two Ghanaian rappers, Sarkodie and Ayigbe Edem have joined hands to change the narrative in Ghana’s entertainment industry for the following tangible reasons.
Rapper Edem thinks the outbreak of coronavirus has exposed the entertainment industry to the extent that it has proven how hungry Ghanaian artistes can be without shows and other gigs.

Another rapper who agreed with Edem amidst the controversy he sparked on twitter with his post is Sarkodie. Sarkodie believes Edem has started a sensitive and important conversation and couldn’t have said it better.
According to the most decorated African rapper, his colleague and former mate, Edem, hit the nail right on the head with his statement on how poor the entertainment structures in Ghana are, making it difficult for artistes – especially Ghanaians – to benefit from their songs.
Sarkodie added that the outbreak of covid-19 has hit a lot of businesses and industries around the globe, but the situation with Ghanaian artistes calls for a change in the structures. The rapper hinted also on the need for musicians to create side businesses to support themselves in times like this.
He did not rule out the fact that the music business which is a lifetime and lucrative venture is actually one of the worst in Ghana as he made reference to how some legends in Ghana are now broke.
