I will build an airport in the Upper East Region – John Mahama

Former president and flagbearer for the major opposition party (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has promised to build an airport in the Upper East Region if he’s voted into power come 7th December’s presidential elections.

As stated by John Mahama during the NDC’s manifesto launch yesterday, land for the airport project in the region was acquired under the previous NDC government.

And the next NDC government will see to the completion of the project. John Mahama further disclosed that both Kumasi and Sunyani airports will be expanded.

We’ll build an airport in the Upper East region. A land was acquired during my previous administration and we’ll continue it,” the former President said.

We’ll extend the runway of the Kumasi International Airport to accommodate bigger aircraft. Upgrade the Sunyani airport, engineer and construct major markets, starting with Aflao, Mankesim, Techiman and Kintampo.
