‘I nearly ended my music career because I was Super Depressed’ – Mzvee

Depression is a phenomenon not everybody can handle especially with people who have no idea what it is capable of doing to one’s self.

Ghanaian Afro-dancehall singer Mzvee has detailed the reason why she went off the music scene the past few years.

According to the former Lynx Entertainment, Mzvee did not say goodbye to music because of her relationship or marriage plans.

The ‘Natural Girl’ hitmaker rubbished reports that she took a break from the music scene also because she was pregnant.

In an exclusive interview TV3’s New Day show, Mzvee has finally revealed that there was no iota of truth in those rumors.

She told Berla Mundi that depression was what forced her to leave the music scene during that period.

“I was super, super depressed in 2017/2018…When my whole depression thing happened I did un-follow people…I just wanted time away. I was lashing out in ways I didn’t even understand…I pulled away from everyone…I coiled up in my shell,” Mzvee stated

When Berla inquired about how she was able to survive through it all, MzVee said her colleague and best friend, Efya was the one who helped her to overcome the depression.

“Efya is amazing,” she said, indicating that it was Efya who understood her condition,”

The “Come and See My Mother” hitmaker also revealed how her family stood by her side and played a major role in helping her out of the situation
