Musician and politician Kwame Asare Obeng, also known as A-Plus, has revealed his challenges due to his style of politics, making him a target for people who disagree with his views on national issues.
During an interview on Accra-based Hitz FM, the 2024 Independent Parliamentary Aspirant for the Gomoa Central Constituency, spoke about the dangers he encounters while exposing wrongdoings in the system.
He mentioned that he now goes to bed with a gun in his hand due to threats, unlike others who sleep with a bible. A-Plus takes social media threats and personal threats on his life seriously, especially after the murder of his former friend and artiste manager Fennec Okyere in 2014, who faced similar threats before his death.
A-Plus emphasized that he is unlike Fennec Okyere and carries a gun with him everywhere, even on TV sets, at functions, or home, due to an attack on guests during a live show on UTV by some hoodlums. He believes the situation would have been different if he had been present on the show.
A-Plus, who is competing for the Gomoa Central Constituency Seat as a parliamentary candidate, has been at the center of media controversies after his fallout with the New Patriotic Party government.
