Out of form General Captain of the Black Stars turned ‘boxer’, Asamoah Gyan, has revealed he did not hit Godwin Martey, CEO of Web Soft Solution.
Earlier last week, the Gyan brothers – Asamoah Gyan and Baffour Gyan -were accused of assaulting Godwin Martey during a tennis match.
The incident is said to have happened at the 37 Army Officer’s Mess tennis court after both parties played a tennis game which ended on a wrong note on the evening of Wednesday, October 14.
Asamoah Gyan was said to have been involved in the assault and also fueled his brother’s action with all sorts of unprintable words.
In an audio that went viral a day after the incident, Gyan was heard saying Godwin deserved the slap after telling him, “Onye Gbemi“.
In a recent interview, Asamoah Gyan apologized to his fans that the words he used were actually uncalled for but it was out of anger.
However, he did not hit Godwin as alleged, and the audio is out of context.
“when you hear the sound you will think this is where I hit him but it was out of context. But I will apologize to my fans for using those words, I used them out of anger… I will apologize to my fans because I know they were disappointed I used that word, but what I can stand on as my personality is that I didn’t hit that guy”
Gyan said in the interview
