Versatile artiste, and member of renowned Ghanaian music group R2bees, Rashid Mugeez better known as Mugeez, has aired that he is not living his life for awards.
It is on record that the music group in-spite of their tremendous contribution to the music industry in the last decade haven’t received much accolades.
R2Bees as a group won it last award as far back as 2014 when it was adjudged the best music group of the year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
The group has been on an award winning drought and has failed to win any award in the last five years according to stats on Wikipedia.
Amidst these shortcomings, a member of the group which has been nominated for the Artiste of the Decade award in this year’s VGMA, has come out to state clearly that his focus is not on awards so far as his career is concerned.
According to Mugeez, he finds it funny whenever he sees someone so attached to music awards and honours.
The artist expressed his ordeal via a facebook post, without mincing words he advised that anyone in the game should focus on doing ‘music’ than winning awards. He wrote; “ManKind No Come Into This Life For Music Awards.. that ish is funny as hell .. don’t attach Urself to it .. just do da music .. it’s embarrassing charley 👽💪“
