Hon Kojo Oppong Nkrumah dismisses reports that Akufo Addo promised to build a hospital each in all of the 216 districts

Ghana’s current information minister – Hon Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has dismissed the viral reports that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has promised to build a modern hospital in all of the 216 districts in Ghana.

Hon Kojo Oppong Nkrumah made this correction during an interview on Kumasi based Hello FM earlier this morning.

The NPP chief scribe further revealed that president Akufo Affo and his NPP led government is set to build 111 ultra-modern district hospitals, six regional hospitals, and two new psychiatric facilities.

In his own words;

President Akufo-Addo didn’t say he will build and complete it by now. 111 district Hospitals will commence on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. The provision will also see to the provision of two specialized hospitals, one for the middle belt and one for the northern part, these are psychiatric hospitals and then redevelopment of the Accra Psychiatric Hospital.

“It is programmed to take between 12 months to complete each one. The project implementation committee chaired by Chief of Staff Madam Akosua Frema Osei Opare has currently secured 88 of the 101 sites.
