Gunmen Attack President Buhari’s Convoy On His Way To His Hometown

According to the BBC, gunmen attacked the convoy of Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari in his home state in the North.

The convoy, which was on its way to the president’s Daura hometown to celebrate the Eid-ul-Adha Muslim festival, got attacked, leaving two people injured, according to a statement by the president’s spokesman Garba Shehu.

The military, according to the presidency, resisted them.

One of the states in northwest Nigeria where banditry is a problem is Katsina.

Since 2015, thousands of individuals have been abducted and tens of thousands have been slain in the area.
