Dave Umahi, the governor of Ebonyi state and chairman of the Southeast Governors Forum, has claimed that the election of an Igbo president in 2023 is in God’s hands.
There have been suggestions that the presidency is to be relocated to the Southeast by 2023. The two major parties, the APC and the PDP, have yet to decide who will run for president in 2023.
In an interview with Channels TV on Monday night, August 2, Umahi, who joined the ruling APC last year, was questioned if the Igbos would be able to pick up the APC’s presidential ticket.
He answered that:
It’s in the hands of God
When questioned if God is a member of the APC to make such a decision, the governor stated, “Yes, God is a member of the APC to make such a decision.”
In his own words;
He is. He directs our affairs. He gives breath to every man so power belongs to God. Whatever thing we wish will come through only through God. If God says yes, no one can say no.”
