Government to buy a new presidential jet – Eugene Arhin reveals

The government has announced intentions to buy a new presidential jet to accommodate the President’s international visits.

Eugene Arhin, the Presidency’s Director of Communications, has exclusively revealed that the Defense Minister, Mr Dominic Nitiwul has already started the procurement process for Ghana’s new plane.

President Nana Akufo-Addo has recently come under fire from Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, a Member of Parliament from North Tongu, for wasting taxpayers’ money on the hiring of private jets for his foreign visits rather than using the existing ones.

Mr. Ablakwa is seeking answers as to why the President allegedly chartered a luxurious jet that cost GH¢3.7 million for his recent trip

The NDC chieftain has also alleged that Nana Akufo-Addo’s three recent foreign trips cost the taxpayer GH¢10 million.
