Give us our royalties- Guru cries to the Government to set up proper structures for musicians

The ” Lapaz Toyota” hitmaker, Guru has made an urgent call to the Government of Ghana to pass a bill that protects the intellectual property rights of musicians in the country.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on Friday night on ”The link-up show”, the musical guy stated that the systems that are currently in place in the music and entertainment industry are not functioning.

Guru also made claims that musicians in Ghana do not receive anything in the form of Royalties despite the hard work and time they devote to create good music for the people.

Speaking further, she urged the Government to focus more on the aspect of creative arts of the economy. Without mincing words, Guru stated emphatically that he himself is yet to receive a pesewa from MUSIGA as Royalties despite being a member for many years.

When asked about his take on musicians venturing into politics by Mona Gucci who is the host of the ” Link-up show” Guru mentioned that he absolutely supports the idea of music people going to parliament because such individuals can make a big change in the entertainment system that is currently in shambles.
