Professor Adio Folayan, Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development in Oyo state, has in a report presented to the verification committee, revealed that 362 ghost names have been discovered in the civil service of the state.
According to him, N20 million is lost every month as payments are made into the accounts of these ghost workers. The Accountant General has been commanded to stop the payments of salaries into those accounts.
The department heads of the institutions where these ghost workers have been discovered have been directed to make sure that the ghost workers and their accomplices are prosecuted for fraud.
The verification committee was set up by Kayode Fayemi in Ekiti.
