Ghanaians enjoy jamming to useless songs more than the insightful ones – Iona Reine

Promising female dancehall artiste who performs under the stage name Ione Reine has contended that Ghanaians patronize useless songs more than the insigful ones.

Iona Reine raised this concern during a virtual interview with DJ adviser on Happy FM.

According to the worried performer, useless songs enjoy massive radio and TV airplay as compared to the insightful ones, typical examples include Stonebwoy’s Putuu and Shatta Wale’s Freedom tunes.

She also expressed her worry over the negative impacts these profane songs have on the youth notbaly the ladies.

I’ve realized that songs that are jammable are what people like and as an artist, if you don’t take care, you’ll just keep doing those kinds of songs. Ebony had ‘sponsor’, Auntie Wendy has ‘akokra’ and stuff like that...

Going forward, Iona Reine also added that she was on the verge of goining the “useless songs gang” but upon sober thoughts she decided to bring out inspiring songs instead.
