The Ghana police service has released a statement on the accident that claimed the lives of two ladies at east Legon in Accra.
The police in a statement revealed that they have began investigation into the matter as they seek to find the cause of the fire and bring the perpetrators to book.
In a statement shared on their social media handle they wrote saying;
The Ghana Police Service has commenced investigation into an accident that occurred on Saturday, 12th October 2024, at East Legon in Accra, leading to the death of two persons.
Preliminary Police investigation indicates that the suspect driver, identified as Salifu Amoako, rammed his vehicle into another vehicle on Dzanie Ashie Street at East Legon. Both vehicles caught fire and burnt beyond recognition.
The suspect driver and other surviving victims are currently receiving medical attention.
Meanwhile, one of the surviving victims has since been treated and discharged, while the bodies of the deceased victims have been deposited at the morgue for preservation and autopsy.
